SAMA ADA berada dalam kelompok pemuzik bebas atau menerobos pintu komersial, sedikit sebanyak, kumpulan Hujan dan Bunkface masih beraksi seperti individu sama. Baik tingkah atau kata, kedua-dua kumpulan itu terbiasa menjadi diri sendiri di depan khalayak.

Hanya kerana keterbukaan dan ketelusan masing-masing, dua grup yang puas menghamburkan semangat juang serta merangkak mencari telinga yang dapat memahami muzik aliran baru itu dianggap punya ‘masalah’ yang tidak selari dengan karya segar mereka.

Kurang sopan dan tidak tahu hormat orang lain, itu antara nista sering dilemparkan kepada sebilangan ahli kugiran itu. Hujan dan Bunkface pernah dituduh biadap hanya kerana corak komunikasi mereka pernah disalah tafsir.

Contoh terdekat, butir bicara penyelenggara kumpulan Hujan, Noh, 26, pernah menyebabkan hati seorang penuntut institusi pengajian tinggi swasta terguris. Noh didakwa mengeluarkan ayat ‘Awak busuk’ kepadanya pada sebuah majlis sekitar Jun lalu.

Noh bagaimanapun menganggap niatnya ketika itu sekadar ingin bergurau tambahan pula luarannya, dia merupakan individu gemar bercanda. Sejujurnya, tidak pernah sesekali terlintas di minda Noh untuk merendahkan martabat wanita itu di depan orang lain.

Tidak hanya itu, tunjang utama grup Bunkface, Sam, 23, juga sebelum ini khabarnya mengambil sikap melarikan diri daripada pihak media gara-gara tidak selesa mengulas soal peribadi. Bahkan, dia dilihat kurang peka dengan kritikan konstruktif.

Menyedari kekhilafan sendiri, anak jati Klang, Selangor itu memberitahu, dia lebih gemar bercerita hal karier dan perjuangan Bunkface yang baru hendak berjalan di laluan arus perdana.

Menjadi grup indie yang meletakkan antusias dalam menyampaikan karya sebagai matlamat utama, interpretasi komunikasi mereka dilihat berbeza antara satu sama lain.

Sejauh mana Hujan dan Bunkface tegar kekal dalam sisi sebenar mereka ketika berdepan laluan seni dan kehidupan yang sifatnya realiti, hanya Noh dan Sam mampu memperhalusi patah kata untuk dikongsi bersama Sensasi Bintang.

Biar apa jua definisinya, perjuangan pemuzik seperti Noh dan Sam dilihat menyambung legasi pemuzik Malaysia yang mahu menaikkan semula band-band indie. Pada waktu sama, mereka ingin menaik taraf muzik komuniti tersebut.

Kalian faham maksud komunikasi?

NOH (N): Kalau mengikut pemahaman saya sendiri, komunikasi bermaksud cara perhubungan yang harus dilakukan dengan tatatertib dan jujur.

SAM (S): Pada saya, ia berkaitan manusia berhubung sesama sendiri merangkumi komunikasi sehala atau dua hala.

Gaya komunikasi kalian sebelum bergelar artis bagaimana?

N: Sejujurnya, cara saya dan anggota Hujan bertutur dengan orang sekeliling sama saja. Biarpun sesudah bergelar artis dan dikenali ramai, corak penyampaiannya tetap seperti dahulu.

S: Sama seperti Noh, stail komunikasi saya dan dua ahli Bunkface tidak berubah walaupun kami sudah popular.

Apa yang dipelajari selepas menjadi anak seni?

N: Banyak yang kami pelajari selepas bergelumang dalam bidang seni. Hujan bermula dari bawah, kami tidak terlalu tertib dan tiada protokol. Selepas memasuki muzik arus perdana, baru kami punya kesedaran untuk meningkatkan skil berinteraksi. Begitupun, kami mahu menjadi diri sendiri tanpa perlu berpura-pura. Lagipun kawan-kawan rapat mahu kami mengekalkan sikap gila-gila dan santai seperti biasa.

S: Ada banyak benda yang kami perhatikan selepas memasuki bisnes hiburan. Saya dan Bunkface akui ada merobah beberapa gaya komunikasi. Cuma, semua masih sama apabila berinteraksi sesama kawan. Formaliti kami hanya sewaktu berada di atas pentas. Selebihnya, kami senang menjadi diri sendiri. Menjadi prinsip Bunkface, peminat paling diutamakan sewaktu kami berkarya atau menghibur di atas pentas.

Pernah terlepas kata sehingga rasa menyesal?

N: Kerana ingin memperbaiki diri, saya mengambil keputusan menyambung pengajian pada peringkat Sarjana Muda Komunikasi (Kepujian) di Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) sejak Ogos lalu. Banyak saya pelajari tentang bahasa Melayu terutama penggunaan tatabahasa. Baru saya tahu selama ini banyak membuat kesalahan sewaktu berbual dengan orang lain.

S: Kalau ingin bercakap tentang mulut lepas, kami akui sebelum ini main belasah apa yang ingin keluar dari mulut tanpa berfikir panjang lebih-lebih lagi depan media. Namun, sekarang kami cuba memperbaiki pertuturan agar tidak menyakiti mana-mana pihak. Kami juga mendapat pertolongan daripada kawan-kawan satu industri untuk belajar berkomunikasi. Paling membanggakan, Youk juga sanggup mengambil inisiatif untuk mengubah diri dengan menyertai program khas pengajian luar kampus bersama Noh dan artis lain.

Sejauh mana keikhlasan kalian semasa berkomunikasi?

N: Macam saya cakap tadi, anggota kumpulan Hujan jadi diri sendiri baik di atas pentas atau kehidupan realiti. Cuma, saya risau kerana ada kata-kata atau lawak yang ingin disampaikan boleh disalah anggap. Tidak semua orang boleh jadi Dafi atau Syahir. Buat apa perlu berlakon menjadi orang lain sedangkan ini merupakan sisi sebenar saya. Tetapi saya akui ada usaha memperbaiki kemahiran bergaul dan perlakuan dari semasa ke semasa. Saya memperlahankan sedikit sikap merapu dan lepas cakap sebab usia sudah semakin tua tambahan pula hendak berkahwin tidak lama lagi. Meskipun orang nampak luaran saya begini, saya masih tahu menghormati orang tua.

S: Ada sesetengah pihak masih memandang kami dengan riak kurang senang di tempat awam, tetapi kami sekadar membalas dengan senyuman. Ada juga beberapa situasi, kami berdepan sikap kurang ajar anak-anak muda yang seperti tidak berpuas hati dengan Bunkface. Mereka mencebik muka dan macam mahu cari gaduh dengan kami. Tak mahu burukkan keadaan, saya dan anggota Bunkface lain cuba bersabar dan berdiam diri. Kalau kami layan, ia boleh bergaduh dibuatnya.

Kemampuan komunikasi dalam bahasa Inggeris pula bagaimana?

N: Saya akui, saya lemah dalam bahasa Inggeris. Saya tidak ada keyakinan diri untuk bercakap dalam bahasa itu. Sewaktu mengadakan persembahan di Ireland dan Melbourne beberapa bulan lalu pun saya tetap bercakap bahasa Melayu. Saya nampak penonton yang terdiri daripada orang luar tetap seronok dan berhibur bersama Hujan. Habis nyanyian, ada antara mereka yang datang ke belakang pentas sambil mengucapkan tahniah. Sempatlah saya meminta maaf kepada mereka kerana tidak dapat berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Inggeris. Itulah saya, kalau setakat berbual santai, bolehlah.

S: Bahasa antarabangsa itu penting kerana terutama ketika kami mengadakan persembahan di depan khalayak yang bukan bertutur dalam bahasa Melayu. Bukan itu saja, kami sering diundang melakukan pertunjukan pentas di luar negara. Kerana itu, kemahiran berbicara dalam bahasa Inggeris sangat penting sebagai perantara. Secara tidak langsung, ia menunjukkan tahap pemikiran golongan artis. Sedikit sebanyak, tanggapan segelintir pihak yang mengatakan ramai anak seni cetek ilmu dan tidak menguasai bahasa Inggeris, tidak akan berlaku lagi. Kalau dalam Bunkface, Paan dan Youk lebih mahir berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Inggeris.

Career

Ingle began making music as NeverShoutNever! in September 2007. His first exposure came through the internet, where he achieved success on MySpace before issuing The Yippee EP on July 29, 2008.^[8] On July 30, 2008, he was featured on TRL, where he performed his single "Bigcitydreams."^[9] He toured with Hellogoodbye and Ace Enders in the fall of 2008.^[10]

As of November 17, 2008, the official spelling of Ingle's alias became NeverShoutNever! It had previously been listed as Never Shout Never oniTunes and his management company's site.^[11] An official statement regarding the reason behind the spelling change has not been made available. In an interview, Ingle revealed that there is no longer an exclamation point after his name and that he will spell NeverShoutNever as one word when he is feeling happy, but three words when he isn't.^[12] Warner Bros. Records is spelling his name as "Never Shout Never" for the upcoming release.

Never Shout Never started touring with The Scene Aesthetic, The Honorary Title, and The Bigger Lights in late February 2009^[13] and then toured with bands such as Forever the Sickest Kids, The Cab, We The Kings,and Mercy Mercedes, among others in spring 2009 as part ofThe Bamboozle Roadshow 2009.^[14] He played at both The Bamboozle Left 2009^[15] and The Bamboozle 2009.^[16]

The Summer EP was released on June 23, 2009.^[17] The first single off the EP, titled "Happy," was released on iTunes on March 3, 2009.^[18]

It was announced on May 29, 2009, that Ingle had signed to Warner Bros. Records, ending a major-label bidding war.^[2] As part of the deal, Ingle will run and make releases on his own imprint label, Loveway Records.^[19]

The debut mini-album from Never Shout Never, What Is Love?, was produced by Butch Walker.^[4][20]

In October 2010, Christofer announced in an interview with Phoenix New Times that he would like to drop the name 'Never Shout Never' and become 'Christofer Drew and the Shout' because he is "sick of this band and the negative connotations with the band." He is also planning to switch from acoustic to more "feel-good rock-n-roll" music.^[21]

In November 2010, Never Shout Never and The Maine did a concert tour, where they had fans gather can foods to help those in need. As a 'Thank you' gift, Never Shout Never and The Maine released a 'Split' Ep titled 'Split - Ep.' As of December 21, 2010, the 'Split - Ep' has been available for free on the Never Shout Never website and continues, to be free, today.

Ingle follows a strict vegan diet.^[22] His music career caused him to drop out of his high school, Joplin Senior High, before graduation.

 Avenged Sevenfold is one of the greatest American rock band , formed in 1999. The band consist of vocalist Matt Shadows , lead guitarist Synyster Gates , ryhtm guitarist Zacky Vengeance and bassist Johnny Christ. This band emerged with a metalcore sound on their debut , Sounding The Seventh Trumpet , which included primarily screaming vocals. The band changed their style in their third album and first major label release , City Of Evil , which features more melodic vocals and power ballads. The band continued to explore new sounds with their self titled release and enjoyed continued mainstream success before their past drummer , James "The Rev" Sullivan , died of heart disease and other effects of chemicals in his body in 2009. Despite his death , the band continued on with help of the Dream Theater drummer , Mike Portnoy and released their fifth album , Nightmare , in 2010 which debuted on the top spot of the Billboard 200 - the first for the band.

The band themselves have received much credit for their worldwide mainstream success and were most notably proclaimed as one of the leaders and key bands in the New Wave of American Heavy Metal and were featured as second place on Ultimate Guitar's Top Ten Bands of the Decade.
